Flying Taxis in the air in India ?

CreativeGuy

Are we going to see flying taxis in the skies above us?

Well it seems true, a company called Sarla Aviation has partnered with the Bangalore International Airport Limited to introduce fully electric flying taxis from the city to the Bangalore International airport. They have signed a statement of collaboration. The project is still in its early stages and may take 2-3 years to become operational.

These will be 7-seater eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) aircraft, which will be developed by Sarla Aviation. (sarla-aviation.com)

What will be possible with these flying taxis

  • A journey from Indiranagar to the airport, can take 1.5 hours in a cab now - this will reduce to 5 minutes (time reduction by 94%).

  • A journey from Electronic City to the airport, can take 2.5 hours in a cab now - this will reduce to 19 minutes. It will cost 1700 rs in the flying taxi, OLA Prime SUV will cost 2500 rs (time reduction by 87%, cost reduction by 32%).

  • This would give the growing middle class an efficient travel option.
